First Steps

Yesterday was the day. The day that my baby boy took his first steps and thus broke my heart for the first time. My dad was over visiting and Sean was doing his usual cruising the couch in a sideways motion when he made his way down to Daddy Rat's foot. Sean then decided that he wanted to go back to the couch and he must have thought the shortest distance between two points is a straight line because instead of sideways crawling back to the couch he took two steps forward towards it. To make sure it wasn't a fluke I sat down a little ways away from Daddy Rat's foot and sure enough when Sean got to the end and saw me he showed me that killer smile and walked straight to me.
Oh this little man of mine. Why couldn't he understand I wanted him to stay a baby just a little while longer.
